Hi, I’m Tina.
I’m an author, Bible teacher, and lifelong educator with a deep love for God’s Word and for helping women understand what they believe and why it matters.
I believe biblical truth was never meant simply to be known. It was meant to shape the way we think, influence the choices we make, change the way we love and serve others, and ultimately transform the way we live.
That conviction is at the heart of Truth to Joy Ministries: helping women move from knowing biblical truth to living it—with confidence, purpose, and joy.
A Teacher at Heart
Teaching has been woven through nearly every season of my adult life. I spent many years in education, including approximately fifteen years as an English Department Chair, and earned both a Master of Arts in English and a Master of Education in Instructional Leadership.
Those years taught me more than how to communicate information. They taught me to think carefully about how people learn—how ideas connect, how understanding develops, and how good teaching helps someone move from simply hearing something to actually being able to use it.
Eventually, that love of teaching became increasingly centered on the subject I care about most: God’s Word.
A Heart for Biblical Discipleship
For years, I have had the privilege of teaching Scripture and serving in women’s ministry and adult discipleship. Since 2018, I have served as the volunteer director of Bible Study Connections at my church, working alongside pastors and teachers to support biblical teaching and discipleship across our adult Bible study ministry. I also lead and teach women through additional Bible studies and discipleship opportunities.
Whether I am writing, teaching a room full of women, developing a Bible study, or sitting around a table talking through a difficult passage, my goal is much the same:
I want women to know what God says, understand what they believe, and discover what that truth changes about Monday morning.
I love serious theology. I also believe we should be able to talk about serious theology in language ordinary women can understand and use. There is room for thoughtful questions, honest struggles, laughter, grace, and plenty of conversation along the way.
From Truth to Joy
My first book, His Will, Your Abundance, grew from that same desire—to help women recognize that God’s will is not something to fear, but the place where we discover the abundant life He intends for us.
Truth to Joy Ministries grew from an even broader conviction: when the truth of God moves from our heads into our lives, it changes us.
That’s the journey I want to take with the women who gather here.
We won’t have all the answers. We won’t pretend life is tidy. But we will open God’s Word, ask good questions, think deeply, and learn together what it looks like to live what we believe.
Because truth isn’t merely something to know.
Truth is meant to lead us somewhere. And ultimately, God’s truth leads us to joy.
A Little More About Me
I make my home in North Alabama with my husband, John. We have two grown daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, and I’ve recently acquired one of my favorite titles yet: Mima.
I love family gathered around the table, good conversation, writing, teaching, and a cup of coffee while I’m thinking through something I probably won’t be able to resist talking about later.
Truth to Joy is an extension of all of that—a place where I hope you’ll feel as though you’ve pulled up a chair and joined the conversation.
I’m glad you’re here.
